By Brownie Marie, Christian Today – “It was revealed this week that Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram beheaded a six-year-old boy on June 1 because he was a Christian.

The attack occurred in Attagara, Gwoza district, Borno State – a predominately Christian community, according to Voice of the Martyrs.

Over 100 militants descended upon the village, slaughtering men, women, and children.

Boko Haram has kidnapped and killed Christians and Shiite Muslims across Borno and Yobe States in an increasingly deadly campaign to establish an extremist, Sunni Muslim reign.

The assault on Attagara occurred as Sunday church services were beginning, according to Voice of the Martyrs (VOM). Boko Haram slashed the villagers with machetes, and fired upon them with assault weapons.

One villager, Sawaltha Wandala, was arriving at church for the second service when he saw children being massacred. One six-year-old boy had been slashed and thrown into a ditch, but he was alive. Wandala picked him up and was carrying him to a hospital in Cameroon, when he was stopped by five of the militants.

The men reportedly took the child from Wandala’s arms and beheaded him, then began beating the 55-year-old with tree branches. After striking him in the head with a rock, they left him for dead.

Two days later the militants returned, attacking Attagara and other villages in Gwoza. VOM reported that approximately 200 people were killed in the two-day assaults.

John Yakuba and his family survived the Attagara attacks and fled to Cameroon, but Yakuba returned to their home to retrieve their animals and some of their belongings. The family faced starvation at a refugee camp, and Yakuba hoped to sell the animals to support them.

Boko Haram members saw Yakuba entering his home, however, and captured him.

‘We know you’re John,’ they said to him, according to VOM. ‘You must convert to Islam or else you will die a painful death.’

When Yakuba refused to denounce Christ, they tied his arms and legs to a tree, and hacked his hands with a knife.

‘Can you become a Muslim now?’ the militants asked.

‘You can kill my body, but not my soul,’ Yakubu cried out.

The men continued to cut his feet and back with a machete and knife to torture him.

‘We will show you,’ they said.

Yakuba’s head was slashed, and an axe was driven into his knee, reaching the bone.

He lost consciousness and was left tied to the tree for three days before someone found him, after which he was taken to the hospital in a coma.

When Yakuba recovered sufficiently to be interviewed, he offered a message of peace to his attackers.

‘I have forgiven the Islamic militants, because they did not know what they are doing,’ he told VOM.

Boko Haram became internationally known after kidnapping over 270 children from an all-girls school in Chibok, Nigeria on April 14. A second mass kidnapping occurred on May 4 in Warabe. Over 200 girls remain missing.” Source – Christian Today.

The Jabhat al-Nusra fighters were filmed flying the terror organization's black flag near the border crossing with Israel. Additional pictures released show the group's fighters in their attack on the Quneitra crossing, one of the Syrian regime's last footholds in the Golan Heights. Other pictures allegedly display one of the group's senior members standing in front of the border. The website also published a video in which Syrian rebels are seen firing on a UN building in Quneitra. Earlier on Thursday, Syrian militants fighting with the Jabhat al-Nusra kidnapped 43 Fijian soldiers from the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Golan Heights. Earlier this week, the Philippines announced they would be recalling their 331-strong peacekeeping force after a number of violent incidents. Israeli security forces announced on Thursday the arrests of 27 Israeli Arabs suspected of drug dealing for Hezbollah. The arrests, carried out by the General Security Service (GSS) and the Israel Police, followed weeks of widespread investigation into smuggling activities conducted between Israeli and Lebanese dealers that involved the transfer of drugs and money across the border, as well as the procurement of information to the Shi’ite terror organization.

The investigation aimed at shedding light on the movements of the drug traffickers operating under Hezbollah’s direction in both countries, and at stopping the operation in its beginning stages before it has a chance to escalate. A number of Israeli citizens were targeted for drug trafficking and for having direct contact with drug dealers in southern Lebanon that were known for their ties to Hezbollah.

Among those arrested on suspicion of establishing direct contact with the terror group were Aysh-Halim Afif Abd al-Karim Abbas, a resident Nahaf; his brother Az-al-Din Abd al-Karim Abbas, also from Nahaf; Ahmed Mohammad Abdullah Mazariv, a resident of Beit Zarzir; and Riad Mustafa Abdullah, also from Zarzir.  A number of other dealers were also caught.

The GSS investigation revealed a connection between these suspects and George Nimer, a Christian Arab resident of Marjaayun in southern Lebanon, known to police as a drug dealer and Hezbollah agent. The suspects served as a means of communication with Hezbollah, transported drugs to Nimer in Lebanon and helped build a secure communication channel for the transport of weapons.

The probe confirmed that Nimer intended to transfer weapons to Hezbollah-affiliated groups in Israel along with drugs, and that a number of “field trip” trips to the Lebanese border were made by the Israeli suspects in order to plan the smuggling operations.

The police report noted that some of the suspects had already been in touch with Nimer prior to the current operation, and that the Lebanese criminal was now leveraging their connections as drug dealers for terrorist purposes. In the course of the investigation, one of the suspects was discovered to be in possession of illegally obtained weapons.

In addition to the arrests, the investigation was able to expand the intelligence picture about a broad network of the Israeli drug dealers and their collaboration with Hezbollah in promoting terrorist operations within Israel.

This is not the first time that Israeli security and intelligence forces have encountered such a network. In 2012, an investigation uncovered some 20 kilograms of explosives and detonators, packaged to look like drugs, that were transported using a similar network of Israeli drug dealers directed by Hezbollah. Most of the roughly 20 suspects arrested in that probe claimed to have no knowledge that they were carrying explosives, and thought they were only transporting drugs.

In light of the support given by Hassan Nasrallah to Hamas during Operation Protective Edge, police believe they may have thwarted recent plans by Hezbollah to carry out terrorist attacks against Israel.
