The Coming North Korean “Hair-Raising” Nuclear Confrontation—Will It Happen In August 2016? They have also said that our recent actions could cause a major show down if the upcoming US—South Korea war games are held in August 2016.   In light of several synchronicities, including the war synchronicities for Tisha B’ Av (8/14/16), this situation bears watching. "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:" Ephesians 1:17.

 

Knowledge is something that most people try to gain. Knowledge abounds in many areas of our life, but most of it is useless when compared to knowledge of God. We follow sports teams and know the statistics of the various players. We pursue a hobby and usually we know more about that hobby than our friends want to hear. We send our children to school and are so very proud when they receive honors for the knowledge they've gained, even if that so-called knowledge is in direct opposition to God's truth. In the above verse, Paul was not congratulating the Ephesians for secular knowledge, but praying that God would give them the "...spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him". This should be our dearest pursuit too. Knowledge of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour is of great value.

 

It might take time and effort on your part to study God's word, but it's really a choice of how you want to spend your time. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15. Like anything we learn, it can be overwhelming at first, but start with small steps. You might start your study in the Gospel of John. Rather than rushing through to get to the end, stop and think about what is written. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God." John 1:1. What does that really mean? Study will show you that the "Word" is Jesus Christ and He is God! Further study will show you how this verse relates to Genesis 1:1, and so the treasure hunt begins. God's word is a treasure to be pursued. Don't be afraid to search out the treasure.

Can we trust prophecy? Some people caution against it.

 

Over the years there have been various attacks mounted on the study of prophecy. Many of these have focused on recent infamous (and failed) predictions of Christ's Second Coming made by certain individuals. During the course of time there have been spectacular failures - beginning with some church fathers, Adventist Ellen G. White in the mid 1800s, and right up to now.

 

I remember reading a persistent preterist's long rants in one forum. He loved recalling these failures and often remarked that prophecy enthusiasts would die in vain waiting for Christ's return. Of course, the preterist insisted that Christ had already returned in 70AD.

 

I reminded him that if Christ returned in 70 AD, then it was a "secret coming" because no one ever noticed. Hippolytus and Irenaeus mustn't have got the memo, as they were still looking for Christ's coming in their day. How could they miss such a grand event?

 

At first, it was fun jousting with him. Well, sort of. I presumed that citing Scripture might get him to rethink his eschatology. I was naive. He was as slippery as a well-oiled fish, determined to escape the obvious meaning of the texts I submitted. In the end, the debates achieved nothing. The rants always called 2 Peter 3:3-4 to mind.

 

Covenant Theology (CT) is inevitably linked to criticisms of prophecy in general. Unfortunately, our non-pretribulational premil friends often join the amillennial and postmillennial chorus of disapproval of dispensationalism and prophecy.

DNC Convention 2016: Soviet Flags, Palestinian Flags – BUT FEW US FLAGS by John McTernan and Georgann Ryan The Hard Left is showing its true face for the world to see at the Democratic National Convention. There were Soviet and Palestinian flags flying, but until yesterday, no US flags; although eventually some photos of a US flag were publicized (possibly in response to the outcry raised over the lack of them) they were far outnumbered by the others. There also have been many photos of anti-Israel signs and burning of both Israeli and American flags. While Trump had a huge surge in popularity at the conclusion of the Republican convention and mainstream pundits predicted the same would hold true for Hillary, this has not been the case. Between the scandals that have broken by the WikiLeaks release of 20,000 Democratic emails, the near riots by Sanders supporters who felt cheated, the removal of party Chairwoman Debbie Wassernman, the documentary about Clinton foundation cash and the growing distrust of Hillary, the Democratic party seems to be coming apart. Remember 2012, when Democrats at their convention voted to remove all mention of God from their platform? Could this be coming back to haunt them? They won't see any connection because of the blindness of the reprobate mind, but God's word does refer to just such repercussions. Read more of this post

Egyptian President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have over the last few weeks intensified their efforts at closing any gaps between their two nations, especially in their collective approaches to ISIS and militant Islam. 

 

Syria, also, is a common cause of concern for both nations as is the almost miraculous reversal   of Syrian President Bashir Assad's fortunes from an international war criminal to the undisputed master of a regime that is now in high demand from all Western nations.

The 84-year-old priest, named as Jacques Hamel, had his throat cut in a Normandy church this morning in an attack that also left a nun critically injured and both jihadis dead. The two killers, who were both known to French authorities, were shot dead by police marksmen as they emerged from the building shouting 'Allahu Akbar'. The building was later searched for bombs. Unbelievably, his bail terms allowed him to be unsupervised between 8.30am and 12.30pm - the attack happened between 9am and 11am. Adel K is understood to have forced the priest to kneel while his accomplice, who also lived locally and was on a terrorist watchlist, filmed the brutal killing. This afternoon it emerged that the murdered clergyman was deputising while the regular parish priest was on holiday. A third man, a 17-year-old known as HB and believed to be a relative of Adel K, was arrested at his home in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray following the attack. It was also revealed that the Catholic church involved was on a terrorist 'hit list' found in the apartment of a suspected ISIS extremist last April. Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy called for a 'merciless' response to the killing while 'horrified' ex-Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin said he feared 'everything is being done to trigger a war of religions'. A nun who was in the church during the attack said the priest was forced to the ground before his throat was slit. 'They forced him to his knees. He wanted to defend himself. And that's when the tragedy happened,' said the nun, identified as Sister Danielle. 'They recorded themselves. They did a sort of sermon around the altar, in Arabic. It's a horror,' she told BFM television. ISIS has already claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement published by its Aamaq news agency. It said the killing was carried out by 'two soldiers of the Islamic State.' It added the killing was in response to its calls to target countries of the US-led coalition which is fighting ISIS. The Paris prosecutor's office said this afternoon that one person has been detained in the investigation but gave no details on the identity or location. French President Francois Hollande, visiting the scene of the attack, appealed for 'unity' in France, where political blame-trading has poisoned the aftermath of the Nice truck attack, the third major strike in the country in 18 months. source

Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle."Zechariah 14:1-3 (KJV) They don’t call him 'Red Francis' for nothing. Nuclear disarmament is a communist goal. The Vatican knows full well that Iran will use this to build more nuclear weapons, not less and that this deal ensures a world war and bloodshed. Then they put the blame on Israel for having nukes to defend herself. It’s reprehensible. These people aren’t stupid – they have a different agenda than we do. We can no longer trust or believe any of our leaders and that certainly includes Pope Francis. His message next week will include climate change promotion, an open borders endorsement, the evils of capitalism and the goodness of socialism, and possibly the promotion of a one-world government and a unifying church under the UN. This isn’t your father’s Catholic Church anymore. The Vatican released a statement Tuesday officially welcoming the nuclear agreement between the P5+1 world powers (U.S., UK, China, France, Russia, Germany) and Iran, stating that the Holy See believes Tehran will reduce its nuclear capabilities in exchange for sanctions relief. In calling for a Middle East free of nuclear weapons, the Vatican also appeared to target Israel, given that it is the lone nuclear power in the region. The Holy See has no illusions about the challenges involved in achieving a world free of nuclear weapons. Progress has been made through the NPT, the CTBT, START, NEW START, unilateral initiatives and other measures. But these steps are limited, insufficient, and often frozen in space and time. The Vatican “values positively this agreement because it considers that the way to resolve disputes and difficulties should always be that of dialogue and negotiation,” Archbishop Paul Gallagher said in a statement. Also deserving of support is the establishment of zones free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, especially in the Middle East.  For its part, the IAEA’s indispensable role in nuclear safety and waste disposal, verification and monitoring will become ever more important as the use of peaceful nuclear energy expands and as the world moves toward nuclear disarmament. source In addressing the 59th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Vatican’s chief diplomat added: It is clear that the agreement requires further efforts and commitment by all the parties involved in order for it to bear fruit. We hope that the full implementation of [the nuclear deal] will ensure the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program under the [Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty] and will be a definitive step toward greater stability and security in the region. In his address calling for a worldwide reduction of nuclear weapons, Archbishop Gallagher added that “spending on nuclear weapons squanders the wealth of nations” and said that “the dubious strategic rationales for maintaining and even strengthening” nuclear stockpiles are “morally problematic.” Gallagher added, “How are these expenditures consistent with progress towards nuclear disarmament?” The Holy See “has no illusions about the challenges involved in achieving a world free of nuclear weapons,” he admitted, but called for “concerted steps” for all nations to disarm. Gallagher also appeared to single out Israel in calling for “the establishment of zones free of nuclear weapons … especially in the Middle East.” Since 1963, the Vatican has opposed the possession of nuclear weapons, Newsweek reports. The news about the Vatican’s pro-Iran deal position comes as Pope Francis is set to visit Washington, D.C., on September 22. He will then be welcomed to the White House by President Obama on the 23rd. On the 24th, he is set to address a joint session of the U.S. Congress.
