A salvage excavation conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Institute of Archaeology near the Temple Mount has unearthed a unique ritual 'Upper City' bath (“mikveh”) dating back to the Late Second Temple period, and written about by Josephus.I love it when biblical archaeologists make new discoveries that shed light on events that took place in Bible times, such is the subject of our story today about the 'Upper City' written about by Roman historian Josephus and related to the destruction of the Second Temple.
