Thousands flee homes as Lebanon says more than 550 people killed in Israeli strikes since Monday

 

  • Israeli air strikes on Hezbollah continued overnight as thousands of people continue to flee their homes in southern Lebanon

  • Lebanon's health ministry says 558 people have been killed since Monday's strikes, which were the deadliest day in Lebanon since the end of the civil war in 1990

  • Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets towards northern Israel this morning - most were intercepted but there has been some damage to buildings, the IDF says

  • Attacks on both sides of the Lebanon-Israel border have increased since the 7 October attacks - Hezbollah says attacks on Israel will go on until a Gaza ceasefire happens

  • Fears of an all-out regional conflict in the Middle East have grown since a series of exploding device attacks on Hezbollah members. 


    Lebanese health ministry says 558 killed since Monday strikes

    In their latest update, the Lebanese health ministry says 558 people have been killed since Monday after Israeli strikes in the country.

    Lebanese health minister Firass Abiad (pictured above) says of those killed, 50 were children.

    As a reminder, Monday was the deadliest day in Lebanon since the end of the civil war in 1990.
