Muslims, Jews Agree on Coming End Times

A Turkish television show featured prominent Muslim and Jewish leaders agreeing on the coming end times and declaring an expectation to live in “love, peace, friendship, brotherhood, good faith, kindness.”

The program, from Turkish A9 Television, featured several Muslim leaders and two officials from the Sanhedrin, the traditional seat of Jewish justice.

The Muslim participants are Oktar Babuna and Adnan Oktar, both prominent Islamic personalities. The Jews are Rabbi Yeshayahu Hollander, a member of the Sanhedrin and an associate justice on the Jerusalem Court for Issues of Bnei Noah, and Rabbi Ben Abrahamson, a historian and consultant at Jerusalem’s Rabbinical Court on matters regarding Islam.

The discussion, broadcast Nov. 21,  focused on the Jewish Tanakh’s description of the end times, what the Quran states and the possibility that the religions’ expected messiahs – the Mahdi for Muslims and King Messiah for the Jews – are one and the same.

The Sanhedrin calls itself a special court for matters concerning the nation. It explains that while the Israeli government is secular, the Sanhedrin is part of the “historical government of the Jewish people.”

The panel members mark the prophecies concerning the coming end times.

Said Babuna: “The wars and violence coming to an end in the time of the King Messiah. Rabbi Hollander has read the quotes about peace from the Torah. ‘I will take away the chariots … and the battle bow will be broken. … He [King Messiah] will proclaim peace to the nations.’  Zechariah Chapter 9:10.

“So here in these quotes it is said that the armaments will be stopped. Explain it to us a little bit, interpret it for us,” said Adnan Oktar.

“Armaments will be stopped, all weapons will be taken out of use, inshaAllah. And the King Messiah, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will bring peace to the nations. Peace will come to the whole world,” said Babuna.

“So in the end times there will be no more tanks, cannon balls or rifles. That is good,” Adnan Oktar said. “So it says that there will be no more military maneuvers. There will be no more wars. That is good.

“That is the promise of Allah,” Oktar said, “there will be peace in the world.”

However, two key experts on Islam and the Middle East told WND there are concerns raised by the content of the interview.

Walid Shoebat, a former Muslim Brotherhood activist who now is a Christian researching Islam, told WND the encounter “has prophetic significance. ”

“Turkey is leading Israel into making a peace treaty, which Isaiah calls ‘a covenant with death’ (Isaiah 28:15) which will happen in Egypt (Isaiah 30:1-2),” he said. “Soon Turkey is likely to confirm the Camp David Accord, which is the main concern for Israel and its neighbor Egypt and if this happens, then we need to be looking upwards, for our redemption draweth nigh.

“The Muslim world is awaiting an Islamic Messiah who will make a covenant (Ba’ya) for seven years. If in doubt, this interview will tell you that this Mahdi will come from a non-Arab region and will enter Jerusalem and make a covenant with the sons of Aaron (the Jews) as has always been stated by Adnan Oktar,” he said.

Shoebat commented further:

Whoever imagined that before Jesus’ second coming that Israel must be reestablished with its religious legal institution, the Sanhedrin, the very agency that put him on trial before a Jewish Council. Recently, the Sanhedrin, still, chose someone else besides its rightful Messiah, and have even embraced the Islamic idea, that Messiah could be the Islamic Mahdi.

On A9 TV with the Turkish influential Muslim Adnan Oktar, an ardent agent of the Turkish Islamist regime had Yeshayahu Hollander a leading justice of the Sanhedrin. During the interview, the legal justice, Hollander, quoted verses that pertain to the Millennium Kingdom of Messiah while deliberately ignoring what comes before; the Antichrist and the Tribulation Period.

The selective verses given by Hollander were completely and purposefully taken out of context. Hollander gave reconciliatory verses from Scripture as to create a peace treaty between Turkey and Israel. During the interview, Hollander of the Sanhedrin started the program by quoting Zechariah 9:10 ‘The battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the nations.’

No other verses from Zechariah 9 were given. The prudent will begin to realize that Israel’s main enemy is mentioned within the context of Zechariah 9:13 the Lord declares, ‘I will rouse your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Yavan.’ In this passage, Israel is seen fighting against Ionia or Yavan, which is simply a province that was located on the west coast of modern Turkey, the very nation the Sanhedrin visited to embrace the idea of Mahdi as Messiah.

This is crucial, because the clear context of this battle is the return of Christ: ‘Then Jehovah will appear over them’ and fight on their behalf. So in the end times, at the time when Jesus returns, the Jews (Zion) will be engaged in a war with Turkey (Yavan) and then peace will reign.

Oktar in the interview comforts the Sanhedrin promising that the government of Turkey will establish peace between Turkey, Israel, Egypt and the Palestinians.

Mustafa Aykol, a Turkish newspaper columnist and frequent Erdogan defender, said his Justice and Development Party, known by its Turkish initials, AKP, is a model for Islamist parties in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya. In a new book, ‘Islam Without Extremes: A Muslim Case for Liberty,’ Aykol told Reuters that there can be liberalism within Islam and challenges the authoritarian interpretations of Iran, Saudi Arabia and militant groups.

Today, we see Egypt falling as we have stated years ago and a current civil war is on its way.

So why is the Sanhedrin desperate to make peace with Turkey? Aykol adds: ‘Israel cannot afford to lose Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan at the same time. The U.S. should be much more active in trying to reconcile Ankara and Tel Aviv. Once this is achieved, the next step should be to re-launch the Syrian-Israeli dialogue under Turkish mediation.’

Turkey is the hope of Israel, even if they have to accept Mahdi.

He explains most people know about the idea of a reign of peace during the end times.

But that peace, according to the Bible, is not based on God and will not last.

Another expert, Joel Richardson, author of  “The Islamic Antichrist,” “Islam and the End Times,” and “The Mideast Beast,” recently was part of an A9 TV conversation with Adnan Oktar in which Oktar described the God of the Bible and Allah of the Quran as “the same God.”

“We both love the same prophets, we both believe in the same hereafter, we both believe in heaven and hell, we both believe in the same destiny,” he said. “Consequently, there are many aspects that we have an alliance about.”

He also said: “King Messiah has been anticipated for about four thousand years. The time has come. The founding of the state of Israel is a portent of it anyway. The founding of the state of Israel is the portent of the appearance of the King Messiah. There is an intense inclination toward religion among Jews and that also is a portent of the appearance of King Messiah.”

Oktar said the “Mahdi” will be “active in the world in alliance with Christians and put away the atheist, materialist system.”

Richardson explained as a Christian he doesn’t believe in alliances with Muslims.

“But what I do believe in is building friendships,” he said.

He told WND that the religious leaders are well-intentioned but in error.

He said, for example, the idea that the Allah of the Muslims is the same as God of the Bible is false.

“The God of the Bible is revealed in his character, the fact he’s a father. Throughout the Tanakh, God revealed is a God who draws near, hears, sees us, appears through the vessel of the angel of the Lord, wrestles with Jacob,” he said. “The god of the Quran is a purely transcendent being that never reveals himself, doesn’t relate to his followers in a loving way … calls them his slaves.”

He said it’s important that faithful Christians not start making covenants with non-Christians.

“It’s essential that Muslims recognize the fact they they need to reject the false prophet Muhammad and become followers of Jesus, the true historical Jesus of the Bible, not the false Jesus of the Quran,” he said.

While Oktar contends the Islamic Mahdi and the Messiah are one and the same, Richardson has argued in his writings that the Mahdi actually is the one known as the Antichrist.

Oktar expressed high hopes for mankind during the end times.

“We will embrace each other, we will become brothers. In the time of our prophet, Muslims married Jewish women, they ate each other’s food, they have done trade; they were living as brothers, as friends. The same days will come again. According to our belief the Mahdi that will appear will rule over the Jews with the original of the Torah, he will rule over the Christians with the original of the Gospel and he will rule over Muslims with the Quran. Love, peace, friendship, brotherhood, good faith, kindness will envelop all around.”

Street preacher arrested in London for “homophobic” language

Police arrested a man in South West London on Monday (1^st July) for using “homophobic” speech whilst street preaching.  He is being supported by the Christian Legal Centre.

Tony Miano, a US citizen, was questioned by the police after a member of the public called them to the scene.

He had been speaking on the subject of sexual immorality and the need to abstain from it based on a passage from the Bible (1 Thessalonians 4:1-12).

Fingerprinted

Mr Miano was then arrested at 4:40pm and taken to the local police station where he was photographed, fingerprinted and had a DNA sample taken. He was taken to a cell with a toilet but no toilet paper.

The investigating officer offered him a £90 fine which he said would ensure Mr Miano’s immediate release and an assurance that he would be able to return to the UK. Mr Miano opted to wait for the arrival of his solicitor before making a decision.

He was then later interviewed by the investigating officer with his solicitor, Michael Phillips, instructed by Christian Legal Centre, present. One of the questions the officer asked was whether Mr Miano would help a homosexual who asks him for a "favour".  Mr Miano indicated that he would by saying "the word of God tells me to love your neighbor as myself."

"So if a homosexual walked up to me and said, I’m hungry and I need something to eat. I would  walk them to the nearest restaurant, give them something to eat, and share the Gospel with them because I love them," he said.

Prosecution

The two final questions that the officer asked him were: "Do you feel that what you did... is 100 per cent acceptable in a public place?“ and “Will you do this again tomorrow?” Mr Miano replied affirmatively to both questions. The investigating officer told Mr Miano’s solicitor that his answers to these last two questions left him no choice but to seek prosecution.

He was then escorted back to his cell and was given, upon request, a Bible to read – the very book whose teachings had led to his arrest.

About an hour later, the investigating officer entered Mr Miano’s cell and told him that the inspector had decided to release him with no further action. At midnight Mr Miano was released after just over seven hours in custody.

Not homophobic

Mr Miano said: “The language I used was not homophobic, as I was not promoting fear or hatred of homosexuals. I began my message by assuring the people that mine was not a message of hate but of love. I was simply explaining a passage in the Bible which speaks of sexual immorality and that people should abstain from it (1 Thessalonians 4:1-12).

“I did not speak solely about homosexuality as a form of sexual immorality but also about any kind of sex outside of marriage between one man and one woman, as well as lustful thoughts. All of these are considered mainstream Christian positions and have been taught and believed by Christians for thousands of years.

“It was very distressing to be arrested and interrogated for openly expressing my deeply held Christian beliefs."

Mr Miano said that it surprised him that a “person to be taken to jail for their thoughts.”

“As the questioning started it became apparent that the interrogation was about more than the incident that too place in the street but what I believed and how I think,” he said.

Thought police

“I was being interrogated about my thoughts … that is the basic definition of thought police.

“It surprised me that here in the country that produced the Magna Carta that an otherwise law abiding person could lose his freedom because one person was offended by the content of my speech.”

Mr Miano plans to send a letter to every member of both Houses of Parliament, expressing his concerns about diminishing free speech in the UK and his fears that the proposed legislation redefining marriage will lead to an increasing number of cases like his.

Andrea Minichiello Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, believes that Mr Miano’s arrest has great significance in light of the current passage of the Government’s Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill.

First of many

She said: “If we continue on the current trajectory, Tony’s arrest will simply be the first of many.

“No assurances that the government gives will be enough. It is ridiculous to think that if the same sex marriage Bill goes through these kinds of incidents will magically cease. It’s clear that there is already a clampdown on freedom of speech where people publicly express mainstream Christian views on sexual ethics.

“At the Christian Legal Centre we are ready to serve anyone who is challenged for expressing their Christian beliefs. We are ready to fight for freedom of speech and the right to preach the gospel.”

It May Now Be “Impossible” to Stop Iran’s Bomb According to The Economist, Iran is putting up with sanctions that damage its economy  rather than accept a deal limiting its nuclear program. It has developed the capacity to  enrich far more uranium than it needs for generating nuclear power or for medical research.  And, as everyone knows, its outgoing president has talked about wanting to wipe Israel off  the map. All of this suggests to observers that the country intends, at a time of its choosing,  to get its hands on nuclear weapons. Iran still denies that it wants a bomb and points to a  fatwa against both the possession and use of nuclear weapons. So how close is Iran to  having a nuclear bomb? The June 20th Economist article notes that to become a nuclear power, a country requires  both the fissile material for a bomb and the means of delivering it accurately to its target  (“weaponization” is the word usually used). Iran was once thought to have suspended work  on weaponization, but now the IAEA is not so sure. Also, in order to create a nuclear  weapon, Iran would need to convert highly enriched uranium into a metal sphere and make  a detonator small enough to fit in the warhead of a ballistic missile. That apparently is not  beyond its technological capability. But, the writer asks, does Iran have enough uranium for a bomb? To make one it would  need about 20 kilograms of highly enriched uranium. Going into considerable detail about  uranium enrichment, theEconomist article points out that Iran has already done the  hardest part (getting from 2% to 20% enrichment), and therefore is completely capable  of going the rest of the way.  British and American intelligence sources think Iran is about a year away from having enough  highly enriched uranium to make a bomb, and rather further from mastering the technologies  to make a nuclear warhead small enough to fit into a missile. But David Albright, a former  UN weapons inspector who is president of the Institute for Science and International  Security, thinks that by mid-2014 Iran will have the capacity to produce enough fissile material for a  single bomb in one or two weeks, should it choose to do so. It seems unlikely that Iran  could be forced to change course on this matter by foreigners. “The best that can be  hoped for is that it decides that it does not want or need a nuclear weapon”—Economist. In Haaretz newspaper, Ari Shavit wrote an article entitled: “Surprise: Benjamin Netanyahu  was right about Iran.” What the world promised would never happen is happening, he  says. What Israel’s defense establishment promised would never happen is happening. Iran  is becoming a nuclear power, while Israel stands alone. “If Israel were a sane country,” Shavit says, “it would have been concerned this week  with one thing only: The Economist. The British weekly is the leading quality news  magazine in the West, one of the few media outlets that give voice to the serious strategic  and economic discourse of the global elite. Therefore, when the Economist declared this  week that it's impossible to stop Iran's nuclear program, the significance of this”  [should have engaged the attention of every Israeli]. Some of us, of course, are not surprised that Netanyahu was right. Shavit’s article appeared  in a left-leaning newspaper, and I was not even able to get the whole article without  paying for it. The question in my mind now is whether there is anything Israel can do, or  whether  there is nothing she can do except trust God and wait for the bomb. In trusting God,  of course, she will be in good hands. Russia Is Evacuating Personnel from Syria On Wednesday, June 26, Russia announced that it was evacuating all military and  diplomatic personnel from Syria, including the Russian naval base at Tartus. “Russia  decided  to withdraw its personnel because of the risks from the conflict in Syria, as well as the  fear of an incident involving the Russian military that could have larger consequences,”  said a defense ministry official in Moscow. He stressed that a 16-ship naval task force in  the eastern Mediterranean remains on post and arms shipments, including anti-air weapons,  would continue to the Syrian government in keeping with former contracts. So does Russia know something that others don’t know? Is there an impending escalation  of the Syrian War that not everyone is aware of? If so, it is not hidden from Israel. On June 26, the Israeli Golani Brigade staged an unannounced war maneuver on the Golan,  attended by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and top army chiefs. Also, in London,  Prime Minister David Cameron called the government’s National Security Council into session  in Downing Street, on Syria. Opposition leader Ed Milliband was invited to attend the meeting  a custom observed only when issues of the highest security importance are discussed. About the same time, Debkafile carried a special report under the heading: “Putin and Obama  cross swords on Syria. What Next?” Debkafile says, “The sullen confrontation between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama  at the G8 Summit in Northern Ireland last week condemned Syria to five months of  escalating, unresolved vicious warfare – that is until the two leaders meet again in  September. For now, tempers are heating up between Washington and Moscow on Syria  and other things too, notably the elusive American fugitive Edward Snowden. According to Debka, US and Israeli intelligence watchers see the Syrian crisis entering seven  ominous phases: 1. A five-month bloodbath centering on the battle for Aleppo, a city of 2.2 million inhabitants. The Syrian army plus allies and the fully-mobilized opposition will hurl all their manpower and  weapons into winning the city. Military experts don’t expect the rebels to hold out against  Assad’s forces beyond late August. 2.  Neither side has enough manpower or game-changing weaponry for winning the war  outright—unless Presidents Obama or Putin steps in to re-tilt the balance. 3. The US and Russia are poised for military intervention in the conflict up until a point just  short of a military clash on Syrian soil. US intelligence analysts have judged that Putin is  ready to go all the way on behalf of Syria against the US. Meanwhile, the Russian president  is deliberately goading Washington and raising temperatures by playing hide-and-seek  over the former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.  At home, Snowden is variously considered  as a traitor and a brave whistleblower. 4.  Iran, Hizbullah and Iraq will likewise ratchet up their battlefield presence in the days and  weeks to come. 5. A violent encounter is building up between Middle East Shiites flocking to Syria to save  the Assad regime alongside Russia, and the US-backed Sunni-dominated rebel forces. It could sabotage the secret US-Iranian negotiating track on its nuclear program, which  was buoyed up by the election of the pragmatic Hassan Rouhani as President of Iran. 6.  The Geneva-2 Conference for a political solution to the Syrian crisis is dead in the  water. Moscow and the US are divided by unbridgeable issues of principle, such as  whether Bashar Assad should stay or go, and Iranian representation. 7.  So long as the diplomatic track is stuck in the mud, the prospects of a regional war  spreading out of the Syrian conflict are rising. Iran, Israel, Jordan and Lebanon may be  dragged in at any moment – if they have not already, like Lebanon. A small mistake  by one of the Syrian warring parties in Syria could, for example, touch off Israeli retaliation  and a wholesale spillover of violence. The above rather dismal scenario is based on a June 26 Debkafile report. Are Israeli Commanders Under-reacting to the Syrian Crisis? Senior Israel military officers, especially in the Northern Command, estimate that the IDF’s  performance is just 40 percent of what it would normally be for defending Israel’s border,  in the face of the threats building up from the Golan. For too long, say sources,  Israeli intelligence has been guided by the misconception that Bashar Assad’s days are  numbered, and they have also underestimated Hizbullah’s combat effectiveness in the  Syrian war. On Friday, June 28, an Iron Dome anti-missile battery was finally deployed to  the northern town of Haifa, after a different kind of rhetoric was heard from Israeli leaders. Addressing a surprise Golani Brigade drill on the Golan Wednesday, June 26, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said firmly: “This is not a theoretical exercise: The situation around  us is volatile and inflammable but Israel stands ready for changing situations. We must break  the enemy, make them scared to death in order to win.” (In other words, he seemed to be  saying that Israel must figure out how to instill the fear of death in its enemies. This may be  difficult, given that Israel’s enemies are Muslims each of whom who are eager to meet their  72 virgins.) The next day, Thursday, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, speaking at the graduation  of new Air Force pilots at the Hatzerim Air Base, said: “The region is shaking from south to  north. Syria is bleeding and in Lebanon, the fire has begun to catch the hem of [Hizbullah  leader] Nasrallah’s robe in Syria and Sidon. You, the graduates, from now on are  inseparable from the effort to ascertain that we remain at peak readiness to meet those  challenges.” Also, Air Force chief, Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel was both enigmatic and revealing when he said  that most air force activity was “covert and unseen, bordering on fantasy.” It may be covert  and unseen, but personally I doubt that there is any “fantasy” involved. What Israel does,  it usually does with a bang. Debkafile believes there is a reason why Israel seems to be hesitating to adequately  defend its northern border. That reason is: Excessive coordination with the pace of American  military operations in the Syrian context. According to Debka’s military sources, the US,  Saudi Arabia, Israel and Jordan are getting ready to move in on a section of southern  Syria to compensate for their inability to prevent Aleppo falling to Assad’s army. The idea is  to let the Syrian ruler seize control of the North, while the US, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and  Israel push the Syrian army and Hizbullah out of the South – “a kind of volatile partition which  it is hard to imagine Tehran accepting lying down.” But as of this writing, that is just speculation and no one knows for sure why Israel has,  to date, not gotten more involved in this northern crisis. “Thus says the Lord to you: Do not fear or be dismayed at this great multitude; for  the battle is not yours, but God’s….take your position, stand still, and see the  victory of the Lord on your behalf…” (2 Chronicles 20:15,17). A high Iranian politician believes the Syrian revolution could be the catalyst for sparking a worldwide conflagration that will usher in an era of Muslim domination of the world.

“One can smell from the crisis in Syria the coming … of the end of times and the coming of the last Islamic messiah,” said Ruhollah Hosseinian, a member of the Islamic regime’s parliament. Previously he was deputy of the Intelligence Ministry and a member of board of trustees of Islamic Revolution Document Center.

Shiites, whose clerics rule Iran with an iron fist, believe that at the end of times, the 12th Imam, Mahdi, a 9th century prophet, will reappear with Jesus Christ at his side, kill all the infidels and raise the flag of Islam in all four corners of the world. Many analysts believe Iran is seeking nuclear capability to bring on that Armageddon.

Based on hadiths by Muhammad and his descendants, the Syrian revolution is a start to the coming of Mahdi, Hosseinian said in a speech quoted Thursday by Fars News Agency, a media outlet run by the Revolutionary Guards.

“Imam Sadegh (the Shiites’ 4th Imam) has stated, when the masters of the yellow flag (Lebanese Hezbollah) engage in a conflict with anti-Shiite elements in Damascus and Iranian forces join them, this is a sign and a prelude to the coming of his highness (Mahdi),” Hosseinian said. “We see that (now) the masters of the yellow flag are engaged with anti-Shiite groups in Damascus. Perhaps this is the event that promises the coming and that we must prepare ourselves.”

Hadiths from Ali, the Shiites’ 1st imam, also state that a sign of the coming will be the fall of the walls of Damascus. A tight-knit coalition of Syrian loyalists, Hezbollah fighters and Iranian forces is fighting against a loose coalition of Syrian rebels and al-Qaida fighters. The anti-Assad forces have brought their fight to inside Damascus.

Hosseinian told the audience that they should prepare themselves for war.

“The coming of his highness is assured … the prophet has promised that people from the east, which according to the hadith means Iran, take power and prepare for the government of Imam Mahdi.”

Hosseinian said that because of the belief in Mahdi, many Christians have converted to Shiism, “including a French philosopher who converted to Shiism and wrote … that because of the Shiites’ belief in Mahdi and that a human being will appear to establish justice in the world … this was the reason ‘for me’ to become a Shiite.”

WND reported on June 23 that the Islamic regime’s newly elected president, Hassan Rohani, attributed his victory in the June 15 voting to the 12th Imam, showing the deep belief of regime officials of the coming of Mahdi.

Recently Gen. Hassan Firouzabadi, the Iranian military chief of staff, criticized President Obama’s decision to provide weapons to rebel factions in Syria and warned, “Obama has made his most dangerous blunder today as president of the U.S. when, with the deceit of the Israelis, he issued an order of sending weapons for terrorists in Syria. Today the shipment of arms to the Syrian terrorists won’t solve anything as the Syrian nation with its national army will force the Israeli mercenaries to retreat and escape.”

As WND reported exclusively last year, a joint war room was created among Iran, Hezbollah and Syria to defeat the opposition in Syria and respond to any possible attack by U.S. or NATO forces with a directive for an immediate response to fire a barrage of missiles from the three allies not only toward Israel but also at American assets in the region.

The British paper The Independent reported on June 16 that Iran has decided to send 4,000 troops from its Revolutionary Guards forces to Syria to assure President Bashar Assad’s survival.

Why Is The U.S. Arming Rebels That Eat Human Hearts And Massacre Entire Christian Villages?

Why would Barack Obama want to help al-Qaeda take over Syria?  Why in the world would he want to spend hard-earned U.S. tax dollars to arm jihadist rebels that eat human hearts and massacre entire Christian villages?  We have always been told that al-Qaeda is our greatest enemy in the “war on terror”.  So now why are we arming them?  None of this makes any sense, and the American people are certainly not behind it.  In fact, polls have shown that up to 70 percent of the population is against arming the Syrian rebels.  What was the whole point of spending more than a trillion dollars on the “war on terror” if we are actually going to start helping al-Qaeda now?  Even Russian President Vladimir Putin has pointed outhow absurd this all is.  And if these rebels are eating human organs and killing off entire Christian villages now, what do they plan to do once they take over and have full control of the Syrian government?  That is a very frightening thing to consider. (Read More.....)

Egyptian Against Egyptian: At Least 10 Killed as MILLIONS Across Country Demand President Morsi Step Down

In a sign of the explosive volatility of the country’s divisions, a hard core of young opponents broke away from the rallies and attacked the main headquarters of President Mohammed Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood, pelting it with stones and firebombs until a raging fire erupted in the walled villa. During clashes, Brotherhood supporters opened fire on the attackers, and activists said three protesters were killed.

Several news reports put the number of protesters in Cairo’s Tahrir square with over a million, with large numbers in other Egyptian cities. Demonstrators say they are angered over the country’s flailing economy and Islamist domination in the halls of power.

Fears were widespread that the two sides could be heading to a violent collision in coming days. Morsi made clear through a spokesman that he would not step down and his Islamist supporters vowed not to allow protesters to remove one of their own, brought to office in a legitimate vote. Thousands of Islamists massed not far from the presidential palace in support of Morsi, some of them prepared for a fight with makeshift armor and sticks.

At least five anti-Morsi protesters were killed Sunday in clashes and shootings in southern Egypt.

The protesters aimed to show by sheer numbers that the country has irrevocably turned against Morsi, a year to the day after he was inaugurated as Egypt’s first freely elected president. But throughout the day and even up to midnight at the main rallying sites, fears of rampant violence did not materialize.

Instead the mood was largely festive as protesters at giant anti-Morsi rallies in Cairo’s central Tahrir Square and outside the Ittihadiya palace spilled into side streets and across boulevards, waving flags, blowing whistles and chanting.

Fireworks went off overhead. Men and women, some with small children on their shoulders, beat drums, danced and sang, ‘By hook or by crook, we will bring Morsi down.’ Residents in nearby homes showered water on marchers below — some carrying tents in preparation to camp outside the palace — to cool them in the summer heat, and blew whistles and waved flags in support.

‘[Then-president Hosni] Mubarak took only 18 days although he had behind him the security, intelligence and a large sector of Egyptians,’ said Amr Tawfeeq, an oil company employee marching toward Ittihadiya with a Christian friend. The Beheading of Christians is Now Confirmed

Many asked me as to the name of men beheaded in a video and I did not know at the time. But I analyzed the video and it was obvious that one of the men was dressed in a Roman Orthodox habit when the scum-bucket butcher slaughtered him. Now we know who that man is – Father Francois Murad with two of his assistants.

According to sources close to the Syriac Orthodox Archbishop , it was confirmed that the incident does actually involve a Syrian Catholic priest Father François Murad 49, and two of his assistants. This video shows militants believed to be Chechen gunmen speaking Arabic with a broken accent, slaughtering three people in the countryside of Edlib, including Father François Murad, who was patron of Sumaan al-Amoudi Monastery.

Father Francois and two assistants were brutally executed – beheaded with a small combat knife. Echoing previous beheading recorded by insurgents, the head is held up to the cheers of onlookers and then placed on the body.

Did you catch that part about “Chechen gunmen”? The Tsarnaev brothers who bombed the Boston marathon were Chechen Muslims who share the ideology of these beheaders.
