US Navy to accompany US, British flagged ships in Persian Gulf after Iran seizes vessel!!

US Navy to accompany US, British flagged ships in Persian Gulf after Iran seizes vessel U.S. Navy ships will begin to accompany U.S.- and British-flagged commercial ships as they travel the Strait of Hormuz, defense officials confirmed to Fox News, on the heels of Iran seizing a cargo ship. 

The Obama administration is closely monitoring Iran's takeover of the ship, as it involved a Marshall Islands-flagged vessel. The Marshall Islands and the U.S. have a longstanding security agreement, and officials said Thursday the two nations are in contact. 

But, in a clear response to that incident, a defense official said the U.S. Navy will now accompany all U.S.-flagged ships going through the area, from the Persian Gulf toward the Arabian Sea. Officials said the Navy will also accompany British-flagged vessels. The move is the latest development in a high-stakes chess match in the region, with the Iran nuclear talks continuing to play out in the background. 

Cmdr. Kevin Stephens, a spokesman for the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet based in Bahrain, told Fox News that 20-25 U.S. flagged vessels transit the Strait of Hormuz each month. 

He stressed that the U.S. Navy would not be escorting the merchant vessels, but would be "accompanying" them and added, "this is not an everyday thing." 

He said each transit of the Strait of Hormuz can last several hours. Land-based Navy P-3 Orion reconnaissance planes and other air assets will also assist in the mission, he said.

• Why did Iran seize cargo ship?

When asked how long the U.S. Navy planned to accompany U.S. flagged ships through the strait, Stephens said "we don't have an end date in mind." 

He said Secretary of Defense Ash Carter signed off on the order, which came at the recommendation of U.S. Central Command, responsible for the Persian Gulf and surrounding area. The Navy had discussed the idea of with shipping companies and "they all wanted the support," said Stephens. 

The Navy already has dispatched a guided-missile destroyer, the USS Farragut, to the region. Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren said Wednesday the destroyer is "keeping an eye on things," and in close enough proximity to the seized ship that they "will be able to respond if a response is required." 

When pressed on what kind of incident aboard the ship would elicit a U.S. Navy response, he was vague, saying: "These [U.S. military] assets give commanders options." He said he didn't know "what the possibilities are," and the U.S. government is "in discussions with the Marshall Islands on the way ahead." 

Earlier this week Iranian naval vessels reportedly fired warning shots near the Marshall Islands-flagged cargo ship and detained it and its crew. Iranian officials say the Maersk shipping line owes it money. 

Maersk Line, the Danish shipper that chartered the cargo vessel, acknowledged in a written statement that the reason for stopping the ship could be related to a 2005 cargo case. 

Maersk Line spokesman Michael Storgaard said the company learned Thursday that an Iranian appeals court had ruled Maersk must pay $3.6 million for a 10-container cargo delivered a decade ago on behalf of an Iranian company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. However, the cargo never was collected, according to Storgaard, adding it eventually was disposed of by local authorities. 

"As we do not have the details of the ruling, we are not able to comment hereon, nor at this point speculate on our options," Maersk Line said of the latest ruling. 

"Our paramount concern remains the safety of the crew and the safe release of the vessel. We will continue to do everything we can to resolve this matter with the relevant Iranian authorities." 

Storgaard told The Associated Press that the ship and crew aren't theirs. MV Maersk Tigris, operated by Rickmers Ship Management in Singapore, was boarded on Tuesday. 

Cors Radings, a spokesman for Rickmers, told Fox News that as of Thursday, there has been no change in the status of the ship and her crew, and that the company has not spoken with the crew in the past 24 hours. 

The Marshall Islands -- officially known as the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and a former U.S. trust -- enjoy "associate state" status with the United States, meaning the U.S. agrees to defend the islands, and provide economic subsidies and access to federally funded social services. The U.S. initially gained military control of the Marshall Islands from Japan in 1944. 

According to the State Department, "The security compact between the United States and the Republic of the Marshall Islands gives the U.S. authority and responsibility for security and defense matters that relate to the Marshall Islands, including matters related to vessels flying the Marshallese flag."

Same sex marriage is not so much about equality for homosexuals— it is about silencing dissenters. It’s all calculated. "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" Isaiah 5:20 (KJV) This is what the courts will use to ultimately shut us down and incarcerate us. They are using the Christian bakeries and other businesses to show that we are not being “tolerant” as they would have us be. But they knew what our reaction would be. They counted on it. “The biggest news from Tuesday’s Supreme Court arguments isn’t news at all to conservatives: Same-sex “marriage” is a threat to religious freedom. For once, that revelation didn’t come from one of the lawyers on our side but from the Obama administration’s own attorney. In a rare moment of candor, Solicitor General Donald Verrilli sent a clear signal on where this debate is headed, and it isn’t to the marriage altar. As the President’s chief attorney made stunningly clear, redefining marriage is not — and has never been — the end goal of homosexuals. Silencing dissent is. And you can’t silence dissent without punishing speech and belief — which is apparently what the government has in mind if the Court rules in the Left’s favor. Looking ahead to a possible constitutional right to same-sex “marriage,” Justice Samuel Alito asked a key question: “In the Bob Jones case, the Court held that a college was not entitled to tax-exempt status if it opposed interracial marriage or interracial dating. So would the same apply to a university or a college if it opposed same-sex marriage?” With chilling honesty, Verrilli admitted, “It’s certainly going to be an issue. I don’t deny that. I don’t deny that, Justice Alito. It is — it is going to be an issue.” Translation: If churches, religious groups, schools, or nonprofits won’t surrender their beliefs on marriage, the government will make it hurt. A lot. Imagine what’s happening to Aaron and Melissa Klein (slapped with a $135,000 fine for their marriage views) occurring on a national scale through hijacked tax exemptions, Pell grants, loans, and other government contracts. If the Supreme Court finds invisible ink granting a “right” to same-sex “marriage” in the Constitution, it will be a declaration of war on principled objectors. Any nonprofit that holds to a natural definition of marriage — the same definition our own President held three years ago — would have a target on its back. (Or a bigger target, I should say.) Is it really a stretch, given the IRS’s history of harassment and discrimination against conservatives, to think that it wouldn’t show a “smidgeon” of prejudice? This ruling would give the political operatives at one of the country’s most powerful agencies even more ammunition to punish opposition. Resistance — even principled, seemingly protected resistance — wouldn’t be tolerated. The IRS, which has been weaponized under this administration, will stop at nothing, including stripping tax exemptions, to force acceptance. Recognizing the damage his admission could do, Verrilli tried to soften the blow by suggesting that “different states could strike different balances.” But if liberals won’t accept the long-held right of the states to regulate marriage, what makes anyone think they would accept it here? Besides, Justice Antonin Scalia fired back, “If you let the states do it, you can make an exception… You can’t do that once it is a constitutional proscription.” Carried to its logical conclusion, the government would be in a position of punishing any non-sanctioned views. This is about controlling beliefs and actions the government doesn’t agree with — which is not only a direct attack on our First Amendment freedoms, but an attack on what it means to be an American. This is what the Left has been searching for: a selective, surgical removal of the conservative voice. And the disadvantaged, poor, needy populations the Left claims to care about would be the unintended victims. Under this brave new world of “progressive totalitarianism,” as Ed Whelan calls it, churches, Christian media, schools, or groups like FRC wouldn’t be the only ones suffering. People around the world served by Catholic Charities, the Salvation Army, Samaritan’s Purse, World Vision, and countless others who depend on the generosity and efficiency of their programs would feel that pain. So much for love being love. As horrifying as Verrilli’s revelation was, the Solicitor General might have done us a huge favor. No one has made a better case for Congress’s Marriage and Religious Freedom Act than the Obama administration just did. Under the bill that conservatives plan to reintroduce, it would be illegal for the government to discriminate against individuals, organizations, and small businesses who believe in natural marriage. The same institutions that Verrilli vows to hunt down — child welfare organizations, private schools, religious universities, relief providers, abstinence groups, military religious contractors, adoption agencies, and political nonprofits — would be spared the government’s crackdown. If you like your religious liberty, you could keep it. A concept that Tuesday’s proceedings proved is more and more foreign.” [1] - source It’s coming brethren. Flag of Nepal I am not able to monitor all that happens in the world, but focus mainly on the US and Israel. Occasionally in other nations, I can see the correlation between sin/touching Israel and disasters. The recent earthquake in Nepal got my attention, so I researched  and was shocked at what I found. Nepal has become the homosexual capital of Asia! Nepal was ruled by a monarchy until 2007, when a government was formed which immediately legalized homosexuality. In 2008, the courts legalized homosexual marriage. In 2011, the state recognized a third gender in addition to male and female. It seems that the goal was to make Nepal the most homosexual friendly nation in Asia. I do not know what was going on in Nepal during the day of the earthquake, but I do know that this nation is now the hub of homosexuality in Asia. This could be the beginning of the end for Nepal. I see the same coming to many nations as the Lord begins to directly deal with sin. It is very possible that the United States and in particular California might be hit with massive earthquakes. Look for the earthquakes devastating California to fall on events involving homosexuality, events like Gay Pride Day. There is no more time; the day of the Lord directly dealing with sin is bearing down on the nations.
