Do you find it even the least bit ironic that, after preaching a message warning against "horoscopes and fortune tellers" that Pope Francis leads his gullible sheep into praying to a statue of the "queen of heaven", and asking her to "intercede" for them?
"The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen ofheaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger." Jeremiah 7:18 (KJV)
In an example of Vatican double speak, Pope Francis today threw up a whopper. Giving a "sermon" at the Vatican, Pope Francis spoke to his Catholic followers warning against "putting one's trust in
horoscopes and fortune telling rather than Christ, who is the only true security that gets us through times of trial and darkness."
Sounds pretty good, right? Sounds like a Christian, right? He continued.
Pointing to how Peter begins to sink when walking toward Jesus on the water in the day's Gospel reading, Francis noted that the same thing can happen to us when we put our trust in false securities.
“When we do not cling to the Word of the Lord, but consult horoscopes and fortune tellers, we begin to sink,” the Pope said. The episode, he said, serves as a reminder “that faith in the Lord and in his word does not open a path where everything is calm and easy; it does not take us away from the storms of life.”
Wow, that's pretty good stuff, right? Almost...right up to about this point.
Pope Francis closed his address asking that the Virgin Mary intercede in helping all to “stay firm in the faith in order to resist the storms of life, to stay on the boat of the Church, eschewing the temptation to go on amusing, yet insecure boats of ideologies, fashions and slogans.”
He then led pilgrims in praying the traditional Marian prayer and greeted various groups of youth from around Italy before asking for prayer and giving his blessing.
What does "Marian Prayer" sound like? Take a look:
"O most pure heart of Mary, full of goodness, show your love towards us. Let the flame of your heart, O Mary, descend on all people. We love you immensely. Impress on our hearts true love so that we may long for you. O Mary, gentle and humble of heart, remember us when we sin. You know that all people sin. Grant that through your most pure and motherly heart, we may be healed from every spiritual sickness. Grant that we may always experience the goodness of your motherly heart, and that through the flame of your heart we may be converted. Amen." -

And there you have it, the real foundation the Roman Catholic system is built on - Mary worship, otherwise known as paganism.

Nowhere in the Bible is it taught that Mary intercedes for anyone, just the opposite. The Bible teaches that only Jesus Christ can intercede to the Father for us.
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)
They might as well be using horoscopes and fortune tellers, I honestly don't see a difference. One false system is a good as another.
