PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR BRIAN AFTER HIS SUCCESSFUL HIP REPLACEMENT OPERATION YESTERDAY.

Dear Friends,

I have spoken to Gilly this morning (Saturday) and she was pleased to inform me that Brian's hip replacement operation went very well yesterday, and that after a long period of recovery, he was moved to the High Dependency Unit last night, and that Gilly was allowed in to see him after a long and frustrating wait.

Brian even joked with Gilly that he could move a leg, such is the dry wit of the lovely and lovable Glaswegian. We give thanks unto the Lord for this success, for Gilly was very worried that Brian, undergoing a major general anesthetic operation, could suffer some side-effects upon Brian's heart, as well as his leg ulcers, his arthritus, and his other illnesses which he has suffered this past year or so.

Gilly is hopeful that Brian will be moved to a normal ward some time today and that this will aid his recovery, and eventually lead to him coming home following a discharge from the hospital.

We cannot fully understand why The Lord allows a great servant of His such as Brian to suffer the illnesses that he has had to endure these past few years, but "God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform", and we trust in Him for His protective hand upon Brian during this latest ordeal.

Thank you all for your prayers and concerns, and please continue to hold dear Brian up to the Throne of Grace, and pray unto our great God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ for a good healing process, which obviously will take some time now.

Please also pray for dear Gilly who really is a Trojan. Having recently suffered the loss of dear Kathleen just before Christmas, and having had to look after Brian so faithfully through his many ailments, she too needs our prayers for she often goes under the radar when we pray for Brian.

The Lord bless both Brian and Gilly at this difficult time.

Blessings To You All,

Neville Stephens.

This was yesterday's blog entry:

Dear Friends,

Brian had a fall on his way to the doctors yesterday, and damaged his hip. At first it was thought that he had not broken the hip, but it has now transpired that he has, and he is under-going a hip replacement operation today to remedy the problem.

Brian also has arthritus in this hip just to compound matters, so we require urgent prayers for Brian please that the surgery will be a complete success in Jesus, and that he will have a good and speedy recovery from this new setback.

I know Brian values your prayers for him very much, as do I as well as the prayers for us as a couple, but this is a bad start to the New Year for us and we genuinely appreciate your prayers and thoughts at this difficult time for us.

With Love and Best Wishes,

Gilly Gemmell.
