THE NTEB PODCAST: As His ‘Jesus Is King’ Album Hits No. #1 On The Billboard Charts, We Need To Ask Is Kanye West Really A Born Again Christian Or An End Times Deceiver?

by Geoffrey Grider

Salvation is not a surface thing, biblical New Testament salvation in Jesus Christ happens on the inside, and it happens with the preaching of the gospel of the grace of God, and it always changes you.

On November 3rd, Billboard announced that the new 'Jesus Is King' album placed in the No. #1 spot on their Top 200 charts, making it the ninth consecutive debut at No. 1 for rap artist Kanye West. 'Jesus Is King' was released on Oct. 25 via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Recordings and earned 264,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 31, according to Nielsen Music. Wow, and how was your week? Probably not nearly as exciting as that.
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV)
Right now the main topic of conversation all across the boards on Facebook is about Kanye West, about his new album, about his Sunday Service travelling show, but most specifically about his recent claim of becoming a born again Christian. When I first heard this news of his conversion to Christianity, I thought that it was a great thing, I really did. I love to see God save anyone, it is always exciting to see Him work. After all, Now The End Begins is a ministry that seeks and works to spread the gospel of the grace of God that people might be saved. So yes, I rejoiced over the news of Kanye getting saved.

But almost as soon as I began looking into it, watching a few videos of his Sunday Service shows, red flags began to pop up immediately. I started looking for any audio or video clips talking about his conversion, but try as I might, I could not find any evidence of the gospel. Yes, he used some pretty good buzzwords that saved people will use, but everything seemed on the surface. Salvation is not a surface thing, biblical New Testament salvation in Jesus Christ happens on the inside, and it happens with the preaching of the gospel of the grace of God.
When someone you know gets saved, you take them at their word, and do your best to help them grow in grace as they start walking with the Lord. And should it turn out that they really didn't get saved, that's sad but it happens, then you pray for them and everyone goes their separate ways. But when someone who is as crazy famous - 29.3 million followers on Twitter alone -  as Kanye West says he got saved, well that can greatly and disproportionately influence people on a global scale. That's a good thing if he really got saved, but if it's not genuine, then now you have set the table for a potential end times mass deception.
"I ain't here to argue about his facial features, Or here to convert atheists into believers.
I'm just trying to say the way school need teachers, The way Kathie Lee needed Regis, that's the way I need Jesus"  - from 'Jesus Walks' by Kanye West
Tonight we will be doing a 2-hour live podcast called The Kanye West Deception. We will not be attacking Kanye in any way, but we will be examining his words, his testimony, his Sunday Service shows, the lyrics to the songs on his No. #1 new album ‘Jesus Is King‘, and we will compare what we find to scripture and see if we can rightly divide if Kanye West has a). truly become born again, is b). just using Christianity as an 'evil genius' marketing ploy, or c). worse. Don't forget, it was not that long ago that Kanye West put a crown of thorns on his head and proclaimed himself to be Yeezus, in absolute mockery of Jesus Christ. I would be remiss in my capacity as editor-in-chief of NTEB if we didn't do a full-scale investigation of his claimed conversion.
I have long believed that we would see an end times revival before the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church, but that it would be a false revival leading people astray. Jesus said the last church would be the Laodicean Church, and I believe Him.  Tonight we will examine the evidence before us of Kanye West and his claimed conversion, please join us.
