When I was lost, working as an actor in Hollywood and headed for Hell, someone left a gospel tract on a picnic table which I happened to pick up and read. A gospel tract was my first point of contact with the truth.
During times of prosperity and plenty, it can be very hard to reach lost people with the gospel of the grace of God. This is something I have seen for myself firsthand whilst preaching the gospel on the very busy streets of one of Florida's most-popular tourist destinations, Saint Augustine. The
streets are eerily quiet these days, as people are self-isolating and hunkering down while waiting for the coronavirus pandemic to ease. But people still need to hear the truth, virus or no virus. The photo at the top was taken last summer, and those two ladies were beaming from ear to ear when I handed them a tract. People love gospel tracts!
“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24 (KJB)
At the beginning of this week, I placed on order for 50,000 more gospel tracts from the printer, that comes out to 166 boxes with 300 tracts apiece in them. That order should be here tomorrow, Monday at the latest, and I would love for them to all be sold by the time they get here. We went through 10,000 last week like it was nothing, and that makes me very happy to see the tracts shipping out around the world like they did.
"And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it." Habakkuk 2:2 (KJB)
When I was lost, working as an actor in Hollywood and headed for Hell, someone left a gospel tract on a picnic table which I happened to pick up and read. I didn't get saved from reading it, but it lit a fire in my mind which caused me to embark on a quest to find God, and
He let me find Him about two years later. It was a gospel tract was my
first point of contact, and this is the testimony of many countless others as well.
"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:11 (KJB)
One time I handed a gospel tract to a hostess at a restaurant, and I watched as she threw it down when she thought I wasn't looking. But 4 days later I got an email from a person who worked for the cleaning company that restaurant had hired. She said she saw 'a piece of paper' on the ground, bent down to pick it up, read it, and prayed to get saved! You never know what path the tracts you hand out will take, but they will never return void because it's God word you sent out. Gospel tracts work!
