By looking at how God has already worked to fulfill bible prophecy, is it possible to apply those things to see if prophecy is being fulfilled in our day? Absolutely.
Since the closing of the bible in 96 AD after the book of Revelation was complete, bible scholars and prophecy watchers have looked fervently at times and events to see if they could discern the fulfillment of bible prophecies that remain yet future. Many cults and sects have risen up based on people who have fancied themselves to be modern-day prophets, people like
Joseph Smith,
Charles Taze Russell,
Mary Baker Eddy,
Ellen G White and countless others who have been 100% wrong, 100% of the time. So how can we as bible believers tell when prophecy is actually coming to pass?
"Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you." Habakkuk 1:5 (KJB)
On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking at a few examples of how God worked to bring to pass events prophesied in the bible, events like the virgin birth, the crucifixion, and the betrayal of Judas. We will also be examining a huge fulfilled prophecy that happened in our time, the prophesied regathering of the nation of Israel in 1948. In studying to see the things that very active in present at the times where the Lord fulfilled prophecy, we can then apply those same things to help us to recognize when prophecy is being fulfilled in front of our own eyes.
