WAGNER TO HAND OVER HEAVY WEAPONS AS MUTINY FINISHES SAYS RUSSIA
- Preparations are under way for Wagner to hand over its heavy military hardware, Russia’s defence ministry says, following Saturday's failed rebellion
- Russian media cites the FSB security service as saying the criminal case against Wagner mutineers has been closed
- In a speech on Monday, Vladimir Putin confirmed Wagner fighters can choose to join the Russian military, return to their families or go to Belarus
- The Russian president also confirmed Russian army pilots were killed in clashes with Wagner troops during the rebellion
- Also speaking on Monday, Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said his short-lived rebellion was a response to government plans to take direct control of the mercenary group
- He agreed to leave Russia for Belarus after calling off his troops - and on Tuesday, a plane linked to Prigozhin landed in the capital, Minsk
- In the same city, Belarussian leader Alexander Lukashenko said the mutiny has been "painful to watch" and during it he had ordered his country's army to be "combat ready"
- Meanwhile, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed the counter-offensive had made advances on all fronts.
