Two separate incidents which involved gunfire and blasts near to the Israeli embassies in Copenhagen and Stockholm might have involved Iran, Swedish spies have claimed.
The allegation comes after a boy, 15 has been arrested in Germany over a 'plot to kill Jews.'
Danish police arrested three Swedish nationals yesterday after two blasts, likely caused by hand grenades, occurred close to the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen.
The police have kept two of the boys - aged 16 and 19 - in custody while the third has been released. In a separate incident, on Tuesday, the Israeli embassy in Stockholm was targeted by a shooter.
He added: 'In part due to
the choice of targets and modus operandi, but that is an assumption rather than
pure knowledge.'
Swedish broadcaster SVT on
Wednesday reported that it had received information that the two latest embassy
attacks had been ordered by the Swedish criminal network Foxtrot - at the
behest of Iran.
In May, Sapo claimed that Iran
was recruiting members of Swedish criminal gangs to commit 'acts of
violence' against Israeli and other interests in Sweden.
Iran has strongly denied these
allegations.
Meanwhile, Der Spiegel has reported that a teenager from
Wuppertal in western Germany remains in custody on suspicion of planning a
terror attack.
The 15-year-old boy is a
suspected Islamist and is said to have been in touch with people abroad who
were attempting to incite him to carry out an attack with a knife - following
the deadly mass stabbing in nearby Solingen where three people died.
