Archaeologists Found Something That Shouldn't Exist: The Mystery of the Dead Sea Sulphur Balls
Archaeologists and amateur explorers have found vast quantities of nearly 100% pure white sulfur (brimstone) balls embedded within ash layers in the southern Dead Sea region, particularly at sites often associated with the biblical Sodom and Gomorrah.
These spherical, chalky nodules are considered a mystery because their purity (94–98% sulfur) is not found elsewhere in nature, as volcanic sulfur is typically yellow and only 40–60% pure.
