Syphilis and gonorrhoea infections at an all time high – now there’s a surprise Congratulations to the Department for Education!  Since the introduction of statutory Sex Education in 1993, they have managed to push STI rates amongst teenagers from almost zero, to accounting now for almost half of all new infections.   According to a report just issued by the Terrence Higgins Trust and the British Association for Sexual Health & HIV (BASHH), in 2018 there were nearly half a million STI diagnoses in the UK.  But then they dropped the real bombshell.   “Over the last decade,’ they reported, ‘cases of gonorrhoea have risen by 249%, while rates of syphilis have increased by 165%.”  And most of these new infections – what are called a disproportionate number – are, they said, among young people and gay and bisexual men (https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/syphilis-cases-at-their-highest-since-world-war-two/ar-BBZEM2o?ocid=se).   IT’S NOT WORKING!   When are the government and policy makers in the Department for Education going to wake up and admit they’re wrong?  When are they going to realise that all this teaching about sex and how to do it – in endless and ever more imaginative ways – is harming and abusing children?   It’s not rocket science.   When are they going to call a halt to the insanity of teaching that science and biology are irrelevant?   The truth is that STIs – all of them – are completely preventable.  Not as a result of super strong, idiot-proof condoms, or a miracle new vaccine – but by … wait for it … abstinence.  Promiscuity and sexual licence are the problem, and we could literally stop it overnight - by teaching children that if they’re promiscuous, as sure as God made little apples, they’re going to have problems.  That so-called sexual freedom comes at a cost.   We all want children to be prepared for life in modern Britain, so let’s start by giving them the facts and teaching them to act responsibly.  Saved sex… saves lives!
