We are living in a time where people all around us are dying, and yet we remain. God left you here for a purpose, for His purpose, redeem the time while you still have it.
There's a hundred headlines in the news today, and all of them bad, take your pick it won't make much difference. The fashion of this world, as the bible tells us, is rapidly passing away, and the hour is growing short. Soon time will be up, and you, Christian, will find yourself at the
Judgment Seat of Christ, with the
work you've done for Him on full display. Are you ready for that day? It will be here before you know it. Tag, you're it.
"But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away." 1 Corinthians 7:29-31 (KJB)
Your sin was dealt with, paid for and cast away at the cross, that will not be the topic at the Judgment Seat of Christ, but the works you did for Him will be. Works have nothing to do with your salvation, but everything to do with your sanctification. The bible says that we've 'bought with a price', and we are not our own. Jesus expects you to hitch up and start plowing in His harvest field, it's not optional. Never won a soul to Christ? Why not? When's the last time you witnessed, handed out a gospel tract or did something of value for the Kingdom of God? Don't fret, the fact that you're reading this means you're still alive, which means you still have time to get something done before Jesus calls time.
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, yes only one,
Soon will its fleeting hours be done;
Then, in ‘that day’ my Lord to meet,
And stand before His Judgement seat;
Only one life,’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
You may stand empty-handed right now, but the good news is there is still time to get something done. See the COVID mask I am wearing in the main photo? I had that made by an amazingly-talented woman in my church, cost me $10, and has the verse that God saved me with, John 3:16. It would be an understatement to say that people noticed it today when I went grocery shopping at Publix after church. Everyone who looked at me or spoke with me was captive to reading it. See how easy it is to get something done for the Lord if you want to?
"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God." Ephesians 5:15-21 (KJB)
That's all I wanted to say, it's a short and sweet message. But one that, if you can grab hold of it, will radically change your life here, and change your experience at the Judgment Seat hereafter. We are living in a time where people all around us are dying, and yet we remain. God left you here for a purpose, for His purpose, redeem the time while you still have it.
