• Russian FSB agents and armed soldiers have been caught on CCTV prowling a Ukrainian orphanage - intending to abduct children and send then to Moscow.

  Ukrainian intelligence believes a staggering 13,000 orphans - some just toddlers - have been kidnapped and shipped to Russia, where the younger ones are indoctrinated with pro-Kremlin propaganda and teenagers are trained to be soldiers.

  Volodymyr Sahaidak, the director of an orphanage near Kherson, an area previously under Russian control before a Ukrainian fightback forced a withdrawal, hid the 52 orphans under his care when he knew Putin's thugs were advancing, sending the children to local families who took them in despite the risk of being arrested or shot.
