 Russians FLEE Crimea: Large traffic jams form out of annexed Ukrainian peninsula after mystery explosion at airbase that caused panic among nearby beachgoers

The explosions rocked a Russian held military airbase home to fighter jets and freight aircraft yesterday 

• Videos and images have emerged of the smouldering wreckage of cars and jets stationed at the base
• Other clips meanwhile showed motorways out of Crimea backed up as thousands attempted to flee 
• Comes as families of Putin's troops in Kherson began to leave following Ukrainian attacks on a pair of bridges 
• Airbase is located 130 miles from nearest Ukrainian-held region and Ukraine has not accepted responsibility
• But a senior military source told the New York Times the explosions came as a result of a Ukrainian strike
