Bishops frequently addressed clerical sex abuse during the first week of the month long synod, Archbishop Eamon Martin of Ireland told reporters on Friday. The 60-page final document, released late Saturday, devoted two paragraphs to the subject of abuse, calling for “rigorous measures of prevention,” starting with the selection and education of clergy and other church employees. Quoting Pope Francis, the document lays much of the blame for sex abuse on “clericalism,” or an excessive deference to the church’s hierarchy. The final document is “frankly inadequate and disappointing on the abuse matter,” Archbishop Charles Chaput of Philadelphia, a member of the council that organized the synod, said in an email. “There’s very little sense of heartfelt apology in the text.” The archbishop, who had previously called on the pope to cancel the gathering because of the sex-abuse crisis, said Saturday that “church leaders outside the United States and a few other countries dealing with the problem clearly don’t understand its scope and gravity.” READ MORE

Commentary

Right now, Pittsburgh looks like an unhinged city! There was a vicious attack on a Christian business because it supports real marriage between a man and woman, and now the mass murder of Jews! The city is obviously a hotbed for anti Christianity, but now the Jews!
The attack on Chick-fil-A is an attack on all of us. The Hard Left controlled city of Pittsburgh loathes us as much as it loathes this business. They are seething against us because we stand up for the truth of God’s word against there promotion and protection of sin, and the mocking of God’s institution of marriage.
This city does not want anything to do with God and his word, so it now has the devil and mass murder.

“Boycotting Christian Beliefs: Pittsburgh Leaders Try to Boot Chick-Fil-A Sponsorship for Kid’s Marathon”

“Christian-based establishments and business owners continue to come under fire for their religious beliefs, and the latest target is one familiar with the fight – Chick-fil-A.

Several groups of leaders in Pittsburgh want to pull an event sponsorship by Chick-fil-A because its CEO holds Christian views about homosexuality. Organizers for the 2019 Pittsburgh Kids Marathon announced last month that Chick-fil-A would be the title sponsor for the one-mile race.

But community leaders almost immediately pushed back, citing concerns over Chick-fil-A’s stance on gay marriage due to previous comments made by CEO Dan Cathy.

According to the Pittsburgh Gazette, all nine city council members signed a letter calling for the sponsorship removal. The letter reads, “The leadership of Chick-Fil-A has openly and passionately promulgated hateful beliefs against the LGBTQIA+ community. Additionally, the company has financed organizations staunchly opposed to same-sex marriage and non-discrimination laws and other groups that equate ‘homosexual behavior and lifestyle’ with lawlessness and in opposition to the ‘the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society.'”

The Enemy of the Hard Left

The Pittsburgh Public Schools board has also joined in the Chick-fil-A bashing, going so far as to threaten to ban district employees and schools from participating unless marathon organizers boot Chick-fil-A. “They have several beliefs, which they’ve expressed officially, largely through religious basis, that are quite discriminatory and are quite inconsistent with the district’s policies regarding discrimination on the basis of gender, race, etc.,” Ira Weiss, the school solicitor, told the Gazette.

In 2016, the Pittsburgh school board unanimously approved a Transgender and Gender Expansive Students policy that allows students to use pronouns, names and bathrooms they identify with. A resolution regarding Chick-fil-A’s sponsorship is expected to be voted on at a board meeting. A petition has also been posted at Action Network to ban Chick-fil-A, accusing the fast-food chain of being “an openly homophobic and transphobic business.”

Franklin  •  October 28, 2018 at 4:00 am          If reports are verified that Pope Francis, while Archbishop of Buenos Aires, defamed accusers of predator priests, refused to meet with them, and denied that any abuse occurred under his watch, then he may not possess the moral authority to cleanse the Church of predatory priests, and those who protected them, without resigning. The Vatican, it seems, still needs to make a policy decision on whether to allow homosexual-oriented clergy. Pedophilia, on the other hand, needs to be treated with zero tolerance. The Vatican could convene a new Vatican Council where resolutions could be adopted to permit priests to marry and have children. In a world where women are increasingly recognized as equals before the law, such a council could also decree that female priests are permissible. These changes would be superficial and would not alter the eternal truths and dogma of the Catholic faith. The Catholic Church needs to recast itself as the conscience of the world, although this could invite censure, even persecution, and risk alienation from secular authorities and some leaders of other religions over issues such as abortion, immigration, capital punishment, religious freedom, the equality of women, and freedom of conscience. On October 12, Pope Francis officially accepted the resignation of Washington's archbishop, Cardinal Donald Wuerl, from the high-profile post Wuerl had occupied for 12 years. Wuerl's resignation was the latest and most direct casualty of the sex-abuse scandal that for years has been rocking the Catholic Church. The project teaches "basic Islamic information" to children between the ages of four and six. Since then, the number of "pre-school Koran classes" has continued to rise. The number of religious "imam hatip schools" has climbed from 450 in 2002 to 4,112 in 2017. Meanwhile, there are only 302 specialized science high schools in the country. "There are religious organizations... [that] pump their own ideologies on children through classes in 'values education' ... We know that they use one-sided language that demonizes those who are different. We observe that the students who are exposed to such curricula consider those who think differently to be their 'enemies.'... Democratic Socialists Of America Vote To Join Anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment And Sanctions Movement, Call For Israel’s Destruction by Geoffrey Grider America’s largest socialist organization overwhelmingly voted to support the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement at its biannual convention in Chicago on Saturday What is truly on the ballot for the November midterm elections? Socialism is what's on the ballot this November. The Democrat Party has taken a very hard turn to the Left, with many of the major candidates like Andrew Gillum and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez being hardcore Progressives and Democratic Socialists. Wanna know the worst thing about all that besides the obvious? They hate Israel and the Jewish people with a passion. "Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion." Psalm 129:5 (KJV) Recently, the Democratic Socialists of America, the largest Socialist group in the United States, voted to join a movement dedicated to the financial ruin of the state of Israel, that they hope will lead to it's complete and total collapse. The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, or BDS, is dedicated to the establishment of a Palestinian state by destroying the Jewish state. Think about that when voting on November 6th. FROM BREAKING ISRAELI NEWS: The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) conveniently held its convention on the Jewish Sabbath, when no observant Jews would be able to appear or protest. IF YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST BOYCOTT ISRAEL, YOU BETTER READ THIS FIRST BDS aims at crippling Israel’s economy as political protest against the “oppressive” state. It has been very successful in destroying employment opportunities for thousands of Palestinians who worked for Israeli companies that BDS targeted. After the vote, which passed by 90 percent, was met with wild applause, the Democratic Socialists of America attendees began to chant a popular genocidal slogan of the pro-Palestinian movement, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” The slogan calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, where Israel currently sits, suggesting that the Jewish state will vanish from the map and be replaced entirely by “Palestine.” It is commonly heard at left-wing anti-Israel campus protests. “Democratic Socialists of America declares itself in solidarity with Palestinian civil society’s nonviolent struggle against apartheid, colonialism, military occupation and for equality, human rights, and self-determination,” reads the BDS motion. What a Palestinian “nonviolent struggle” might look like is not made quite clear by the DSA. The DSA claims to be the largest socialist organization in the US, with 25,000 dues-paying members. As the organization admits that America is “unlikely to see an immediate end to capitalism tomorrow”, it does its best to fight the capitalist system by working to achieve “equitable distribution of resources…a healthy environment…gender and racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships”, among other goals. Perhaps the DSA is unaware that wiping an entire country and people off the map, a vision they seem particularly excited about, could be defined by some as an “oppressive” move. READ MORE
