HELLO FROM SUNNY SALTBURN BY THE SEA.

Just a short report from the Brian Gemmell Bible Teaching Holiday Retreat from Saltburn by the sea on the beautiful North Yorkshire coastline, before we conclude on Friday.

The Conference is titled "Typology And Prophecy In The Bible", and as you would expect from the wordsmith from Glasgow, now residing in York, we have been treated to an in-depth analysis of this fascinating scenario, with the teaching spread over ten amazing sessions.

There are so many "types" in the Bible, and particularly the Old Testament, which are sadly neglected by many of the professing Christian churches today, and because of this, many nuggets and gems are lost!

We have seen how Abraham is a type of the Father willing to sacrifice his own beloved son. We have seen how Joseph and Isaac are types of the Lord Jesus Christ, and how Eleazer (Lazarus) is a type of the Holy Spirit.

We have been taught that Joseph, despite being a type of Christ, also exhibited characteristics which foreshadowed the type of the soon coming Anti-Christ, and we also looked at other Anti-Christ type of tendencies displayed by others in the Bible.

We looked at the "Wilderness Journey" of the Israelites before crossing out of bondage in Egypt into the Promised Land of Canaan and Jordan, offering us a type of our walk with Jesus at times during our wilderness experiences before He finally takes us home.

We looked at the teaching of Gentile brides for Jewish heroes such as Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and Moses and how this offers us a picture of the Church (mainly Gentile) as the Bride waiting for Christ the Bridegroom at the forthcoming Marriage Feast in Heaven.

Too much to mention here, but superb teaching followed superb teaching and there was also much on Bible Prophecy which is another one of Brian's strong fortes. The excellent "Two By Two" ministry team of David and Julie Boyden from Chesterfield are here to record every session, and a splendid DVD of the whole conference will be available very soon.

More details to follow,
Maranatha Blessings,
Nev.
