Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and most members of his government were delighted to learn that US President Donald Trump had fired the incumbent Rex Tillerson and tapped current CIA director Mike Pompeo for the job instead.
"For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place."Jeremiah 29:10 (KJV)
Donald Trump on his first day in office was exactly 70 years, 7 months and 7 days old. On May 14th, 1948, he was exactly 700 days old. As of this writing we are exactly 2 months away from the 70th anniversary of the regathering of Israel. President Trump has picked Mike Pompeo to be his Secretary of State to oversee the move of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Pompeo
is the 70th person, not counting unofficial acting secretary, to hold the position of US Secretary of State...
...and the mad dash to the prophetic month of May just got kicked up a notch. Maybe two.
All over Israel, the news of Pompeo as Secretary of State is a cause for celebration. Why Because he is very much pro-Israel, and wants to do what is right for the Jewish people and the state of Israel.
The Times of Israel had this to say: In December, when rumors that Pompeo could replace Tillerson first surfaced, hawkish Middle East analyst Tom Gross
said he would become “the first properly pro-Israel US secretary of state in decades.” In contrast to Tillerson, who did not play a significant role in the administration’s approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and gladly focused on other parts of the globe, Pompeo may want to get involved in the Middle East, especially as Trump and his team prepare to unveil their peace proposal.

We are not setting a date for the rapture of the church or the start of time of Jacob's trouble
Let me again take out a moment to stress the fact that I am not setting a date for anything, other than that May 14th is the 70th anniversary of the regathering of Israel. I do not know when the
Pretribulation Rapture of the Church will take place, though I do confess to looking for it every day and every night. I do not know when the time of Jacob's trouble will begin, other than shortly after the Pretribulation Rapture of the Church occurs.
That said, I am excited to see what the Lord might do around the time Israel's 70 anniversary. Here are a few, easy-to-digest bullet points as to why.
- Solomon says that the Rapture of the Church is in the Springtime: The middle of the month of May is smack dab of the peak of Spring both here in the United States and Israel. Solomon tells us that the rapture of the church is in the Springtime. “The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice. My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;” Song Of Solomon 2:8-12 (KJV). - 70 is a huge number in end times bible prophecy: When the angel Gabriel appeared to Daniel in chapter 9 of that book, Daniel was given a prophecy of the 70 Weeks, of which 69 of those weeks have already taken place. That last week is something called the time of Jacob's trouble, and it starts after the Rapture of the Church. What a lot of people don't know, however, is that in Daniel 9 right before his angel visitation. Daniel says he is reading from the book of Jeremiah where he learns about the prophetical meaning of the number 70. The verse that sparked it for Daniel is a prophecy that was fulfilled partially in Daniel's day, but the complete fulfillment remains yet future. "For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place." Jeremiah 29:10 (KJV). I believe with all my heart that if we truly are the generation that will see major prophetical fulfillment, then according to the Bible, it has to take place around the number 70. As mentioned at the top of this article, many things have already aligned into place to continue to make me think something big will happen.
Remember, that since the time of Jacob's trouble - Israel's trouble - cannot begin until the Church has been removed from off the Earth, that the Rapture of the Church has to take place before anything related to the Tribulation can happen.
As we get closer and closer to the month of May, I will be right here at my keyboard reporting events as that happen, and blessed hoping all the way.
